Designed Around the Way People Really Sail

The Cure 48GT was conceived for sailors who believe the journey should be every bit as rewarding as the destination.

Built entirely in carbon by McConaghy, it combines exhilarating sailing performance with effortless handling and genuine offshore capability. Every aspect of the boat has been carefully considered to reduce complexity, lower sailing loads and maximise the enjoyment of every mile.

Fast enough to shorten passages.

Comfortable enough to stay longer.

Simple enough to sail with confidence.

Why the Cure 48GT

Designed with Purpose

One philosophy. Five principles.

From lightweight construction and intuitive sailing systems to offshore capability and the expertise of McConaghy, every element of the Cure 48GT has been considered with a single purpose: to make every mile more rewarding.

Every kilogram matters.
Lightweight by Design

Every kilogram matters.

Full carbon construction delivers exceptional structural stiffness while reducing weight throughout the yacht.

The result is a boat that accelerates more readily, carries lower sailing loads and remains beautifully balanced across a wide range of conditions.

Designed to Feel Natural.
Designed Around the Sailor

Designed to Feel Natural.

From the articulating helm stations to the carefully considered deck layouts, every control falls naturally to hand.

Reduced sail loads, intuitive line management and excellent visibility allow couples to sail confidently while remaining fully connected to the experience.

Stay Longer. Explore Further.
Designed for the Journey

Stay Longer. Explore Further.

A carefully integrated electrical architecture, generous lithium capacity, extensive solar generation and premium onboard systems allow owners to spend more time exploring and less time managing the boat.

Behind every Cure stands more than fifty years of composite innovation.

Built by McConaghy, every yacht benefits from engineering expertise developed across America's Cup campaigns, Sydney to Hobart winners, luxury superyachts and some of the world's most technically demanding composite projects.

Ready to sail from the day she's delivered.
Ready for the Journey

Ready to sail from the day she's delivered.

Every Cure has been specified as a complete offshore cruising package from the outset.

Rather than asking owners to navigate lengthy options lists, we've selected the equipment we believe belongs on a serious performance cruising catamaran. The result is a yacht that's genuinely ready to sail from the day she's delivered.

Performance

Designed to reward every mile.

Performance isn't simply about top speed.

It is about arriving earlier, sailing comfortably in a wider range of conditions and making every passage more enjoyable.

Every Cure has been designed to deliver predictable, confidence-inspiring performance whether you're coastal cruising or crossing oceans.

Polars

Sail Plan

Understanding the Polar Diagram

The coloured curves represent predicted boat speed across a range of true wind speeds and sailing angles. The further a curve extends from the centre, the faster the yacht is travelling under those conditions.

Looking across the diagram reveals two important characteristics:

  • how efficiently the yacht sails upwind
  • how rapidly speed builds as the wind moves aft.

Rather than focusing on one impressive number, the polar demonstrates something far more important — consistently high average passage speeds across a wide range of real-world sailing conditions.

A Rig Designed Around Efficiency

The Cure 48GT has not been designed around carrying the biggest possible sail plan. It has been designed around carrying the right one.

Because full carbon construction dramatically reduces displacement, the yacht simply doesn't require oversized overlapping headsails to deliver exceptional performance.

Instead, the Cure employs a self-tacking jib that provides balance, excellent pointing ability and effortless short-handed sailing. Tacking requires little more than turning the wheel, eliminating additional sheets, winches and deck clutter associated with large overlapping genoas.

The result is a cleaner deck layout, reduced sail handling and a yacht that remains rewarding to sail without becoming demanding.

The powerful square-top mainsail provides the majority of the driving force, while reaching sails such as the gennaker can be deployed quickly when conditions allow. It's a philosophy that places efficiency and simplicity ahead of complexity.
